Australian Dairy Co., Hong Kong 澳洲牛奶公司

Australian Dairy Co. has always been on the top few rankings on openrice.com website. Our hotel, being located at Jordan and a 10 minute walking distance from it, we definitely could not miss trying out this widely talked about stall.

As with most hotels in Hong Kong which do not include breakfast, we went there for breakfast, just before catching our ferry to Macau.  

Restaurant was already very crowded by the time we reached around 9+. Luckily we didn't have to wait too long before getting a seat. However, be prepared to share the table with someone else, even if it is just one additional seat.

There was a selection of 3 sets available for different timings of the day. Most of of people who came for breakfast will choose the top set, which consists of toast, eggs, macaroni soup and coffee or tea. Of course you can also order from the ala-carte menu if the set is not to your liking.

First came the macaroni soup. The soup somewhat had a buttery taste to it, but not to heavy and easy to eat. 

Then came the toast with eggs. You can choose from either fried egg (煎蛋) or scrambled egg (炒蛋). The toast was delicious! the surface was lightly toasted while the bread was still soft inside. Butter is spread lightly on the surface which gave the toast an additional fragrance. 

Next came the milk tea. I think they used fresh milk for the tea, as it had a strong flavour of fresh milk. Otherwise, their restaurant would not be called Australian Dairy Co. right? 

The table is actually quite small, not enough to fit all the items which came in the set. 

Restaurant was also very cramp, but for the sake of good food, guests do not seem to mind.  

When you finish your food, the waiter will pass you a slip of paper with the total price, and you would have to bring this paper to the cashier for payment. Our breakfast totaled up to HKD78, based on the HKD26 set we ordered. 

 The cooks were also preparing steamed milk egg pudding (蛋白燉鲜牛奶) which was also one of the popular dessert of the shop.   

The steamed milk egg white pudding is very smooth, but a tad too rich for a whole bowl. 


If you want to have some good breakfast of toast and eggs, Australia Dairy Co. is the shop you must visit. However, be prepared to share your table with someone else, and do bear with the impatient waiters who can't stop to wait for you to decide your orders.
