Le Bihan Boulangerie Patisserie

Another one of these French Bakeries made popular in Japan. Now in their 3rd generation with close to 100 years of history, Le Bihan (pronounced as ru bi an) first opened doors in Bretagne, France in 1913 and came to Japan in 1974. They now have 8 stores Japan wide and I was so lucky to find one at their Ikebukuro Seibu branch.

Le Bihan has a grand entrance to welcome customers into their store.

And yes, the No. 1 and 2 best seller are also indicated here: No.1 is the baguette filled with sausage and melted cheese, whereas No. 2 is the Mentaiko (pollock roe) baguette.

Assortment of breads. Their croissants seems quite popular as well.

Another of their weekend 3 days promotion - the berry and nuts bread going on sale at JPY210 (SGD3).

This seems like the chocolate corner. Most of the breads here are chocolate based..

Chocolate Galette

Hazelnut Chocolate

And they also offer a variety of bagels too!

Or would you prefer some piping hot pizza instead?

These frankfurts looks super delicious too!

Le Bihan looks like it's gaining popularity among Japanese consumers. But their breads are not cheap too, with prices around JPY250 (SGD4) for a bread roll. Anyone keen to franchise in Singapore?
